🐑 Chapter One – The Sheep Nobody Wanted
Far away, beyond the tall hills and green valleys, there was a quiet farm where many sheep lived together. Every morning, the sun rose gently over the fields, and the sheep happily walked outside to eat the fresh green grass. Birds sang from the trees, butterflies danced among the flowers, and the cool wind carried the sweet smell of nature.
The farm was one of the happiest places anyone could imagine.
The shepherd loved every animal under his care. He woke up before sunrise every day, filled the water troughs, checked the fences, and made sure every sheep was safe before leading them to the open fields.
The flock was large.
There were old sheep with thick wool.
There were playful young lambs that loved running around.
There were mothers who always stayed close to their little ones.
But among all of them was one sheep who looked completely different.
His name was Kofi.
Unlike every other sheep whose wool was bright white, Kofi's wool was deep black, as dark as the night sky after the stars appeared.
When he was born, everyone in the flock became quiet.
Some sheep stared at him with surprise.
Others whispered to themselves.
"I have never seen a sheep like that before."
"He doesn't look like one of us."
"I wonder why he is different."
As Kofi grew older, nothing changed.
Whenever the young sheep played together, they never called him.
If they were running around the field, Kofi always found himself standing alone.
Sometimes he would slowly walk towards them with a smile, hoping they would let him join.
But every time, someone would quietly say,
"We already have enough players."
Or another sheep would simply turn away.
After many days, Kofi stopped asking.
Instead, he would sit beneath a small tree at the edge of the field while the others laughed together.
He never became angry.
He simply watched.
Sometimes he wondered if there was something wrong with him.
One afternoon, he walked over to the small river that flowed beside the farm.
The water was so clear that it reflected everything perfectly.
Kofi looked at his own reflection.
For a long time, he said nothing.
Then he quietly asked himself,
"Why am I not white like everyone else?"
No one answered.
Only the gentle sound of the river filled the air.
Later that evening, while the flock rested together inside the sheep pen, Kofi stayed outside looking at the stars.
He liked the night.
The darkness reminded him that being black was not always a bad thing.
The sky itself became dark every evening.
Yet everyone still admired the stars.
Just then, slow footsteps came from behind him.
Kofi turned around.
An old ram with large curved horns was walking towards him.
His wool had turned grey with age, and he moved slowly, but his eyes were bright and full of wisdom.
Everyone on the farm respected him.
He had lived there longer than any other sheep.
The old ram sat quietly beside Kofi.
For several minutes, neither of them spoke.
They simply watched the stars together.
Finally, the old ram smiled gently.
"Do you know why the stars shine brightest at night?"
Kofi looked at him and slowly shook his head.
The old ram smiled again but did not answer.
Instead, he stood up and slowly walked away.
Before disappearing into the sheep pen, he looked back and quietly said,
"Tomorrow... I will tell you a story that may change how you see yourself."
Kofi watched him disappear into the darkness.
For the first time in many days...
He smiled.

🌿 Chapter Two – The Story of the Little Seed
The next morning, the sun rose slowly over the hills, covering the farm with a soft golden light.
The other sheep hurried into the green field, happily eating the fresh grass that had grown after the night's cool breeze.
As always, Kofi stayed by himself.
He quietly walked towards the little tree where he often sat alone.
To his surprise, the old ram was already waiting there.
He smiled warmly as Kofi came closer.
"I knew you would come."
Kofi sat beside him.
For a while, neither of them spoke.
The birds sang above them while butterflies floated from flower to flower.
Finally, the old ram looked at Kofi.
"You asked yourself yesterday why you are different."
Kofi slowly nodded.
"I don't understand it."
"Everyone else looks the same."
"I'm the only one who is black."
The old ram smiled gently.
"Then let me tell you a story."
Kofi listened carefully.
"A long time ago," the old ram began, "before this farm was built, there stood a huge forest not far from here."
"In that forest grew thousands of trees."
"Most of them looked exactly alike."
"They had the same green leaves."
"The same brown trunks."
"The same branches."
"But among them was one little tree with golden leaves."
"Every other tree laughed at it."
"'Why don't you look like us?' they would ask."
"The little tree wished every day that it could become green like everyone else."
"But it never happened."
Kofi listened without blinking.
The old ram continued.
"Then one summer, a terrible drought came."
"There was almost no rain."
"The rivers became smaller."
"The grass dried up."
"One by one, the green trees began losing their leaves."
"But the little golden tree stayed strong."
"It had roots that reached deeper into the ground than all the others."
"While the other trees became weak..."
"The golden tree stayed alive."
"When the rain finally returned, birds carried its seeds across the forest."
"Soon..."
"Many new trees began growing."
"If that little tree had been exactly like everyone else..."
"The forest might never have survived."
The old ram looked kindly at Kofi.
"Sometimes being different is not a mistake."
"Sometimes..."
"It is a gift."
Kofi lowered his head.
"No one else believes that."
The old ram chuckled softly.
"Not everyone sees clearly."
"Some people only notice what is outside."
"They forget to look at what is inside."
At that moment, loud crying came from the other side of the field.
Both sheep quickly turned.
A tiny lamb had wandered into a patch of thick thorn bushes.
The poor little lamb tried to move but only became more trapped.
Several sheep gathered nearby.
They wanted to help.
But the thorns were too sharp.
Nobody dared to enter.
The little lamb cried louder.
Without thinking twice...
Kofi ran towards the bushes.
The sharp thorns scratched his legs.
They pulled at his thick black wool.
Still...
He kept moving.
Slowly...
Carefully...
He reached the frightened little lamb.
He gently pushed the branches aside with his strong body.
Then he guided the lamb safely back into the open field.
The little lamb quickly ran back to its mother.
The mother thanked Kofi warmly.
But something surprised him.
Most of the other sheep simply walked away.
Nobody clapped.
Nobody smiled.
Nobody even said,
"Thank you."
Kofi quietly looked down at the scratches on his legs.
For a moment, sadness returned.
The old ram slowly walked over to him.
"You did the right thing."
"But remember..."
"The right thing is still right, even when nobody notices."
Just then...
The old ram suddenly became very quiet.
He lifted his head and looked towards the distant hills.
His ears stood upright.
His smile disappeared.
Kofi noticed the change immediately.
"What is it?"
The old ram spoke softly.
"I smell danger..."
"...and it is coming closer."

🐺 Chapter Three – The Shadow in the Tall Grass
For the rest of the day, Kofi could not stop thinking about what the old ram had said.
"I smell danger..."
"...and it is coming closer."
He looked around the wide green field.
Everything seemed normal.
The lambs were chasing butterflies.
The older sheep were peacefully eating grass.
The shepherd sat beneath a tree, repairing a broken fence while softly humming a song.
Nothing looked dangerous.
Still...
The old ram had never been wrong before.
As the afternoon slowly passed, dark clouds began gathering above the hills.
The wind became stronger.
The tall grass moved from side to side like gentle waves.
Kofi lifted his head.
Something felt strange.
Very strange.
He slowly walked away from the flock and climbed onto a small rock near the edge of the field.
From there, he could see much farther.
He carefully looked across the hills.
Nothing.
He looked towards the forest.
Still nothing.
Then...
The grass moved.
Not because of the wind.
Something large was moving through it.
Slowly.
Very slowly.
Kofi narrowed his eyes.
For a second he thought it might be another sheep.
But then he saw two sharp ears.
A long grey tail.
And bright yellow eyes.
His heart skipped.
It was a wolf.
The wolf stayed low to the ground, hiding inside the grass.
It was watching the flock.
Watching...
Waiting...
Kofi quickly jumped down from the rock.
He ran as fast as he could.
Straight towards the shepherd.
He bleated loudly.
"Baa! Baa! Baa!"
The shepherd looked up.
"What is it, Kofi?"
Kofi continued making noise.
He ran towards the forest.
Then back towards the shepherd.
Again towards the forest.
The shepherd laughed.
"You must be feeling playful today."
He gently rubbed Kofi's head before returning to his work.
Kofi became even more worried.
He ran to the other sheep.
He tried pushing them away from the edge of the field.
Some sheep became annoyed.
"Leave us alone!"
"We're eating!"
Another sheep rolled its eyes.
"There goes the strange sheep again."
"He always acts differently."
Only the old ram stood quietly watching.
He slowly walked over to Kofi.
"You saw something."
It was not a question.
It was a fact.
Kofi nodded quickly.
The old ram looked towards the forest.
His eyes became serious.
"I believe you."
The two of them stood silently for several minutes.
Then the old ram whispered,
"Do not tell the flock anymore."
"They won't listen."
"But from today..."
"You and I will keep watch."
That evening, as the sun slowly disappeared, the shepherd led the sheep back into the wooden sheep pen.
The strong wooden gate was closed.
Everything became quiet.
One by one, the sheep fell asleep.
Only Kofi remained awake.
He could not stop thinking about the wolf.
He quietly walked to the corner of the fence.
The moon was already high above the farm.
The night was calm.
Too calm.
Suddenly...
A pair of glowing yellow eyes appeared outside the fence.
The wolf had returned.
It slowly walked around the sheep pen without making a sound.
Its eyes never left the sleeping flock.
Kofi's legs began shaking.
The wolf wasn't just passing by.
It was studying the farm.
Learning.
Waiting for the perfect chance to attack.
The wolf finally stopped.
It looked directly at Kofi.
For a long moment...
Neither of them moved.
Then the wolf slowly turned around and disappeared into the darkness.
But before it vanished completely...
Kofi heard a low growl echo through the night.
It sounded like a promise.
"I'll be back."

⛈️ Chapter Four – The Storm and the Hungry Wolf
The next morning, Kofi looked more tired than anyone else in the flock.
He had hardly slept.
Every time he closed his eyes, he remembered the wolf's glowing yellow eyes staring at him through the darkness.
The shepherd noticed Kofi looked quieter than usual.
He gently rubbed the little sheep's head.
"You'll be alright, little one."
Kofi wished he could explain what he had seen.
But he knew the shepherd would not understand.
Soon the flock was led back into the wide green field.
The morning was beautiful.
Bright sunshine covered the hills.
A cool breeze blew across the grass.
The sheep happily spread out to eat.
Only Kofi stayed close to the old ram.
The old ram quietly whispered,
"Keep watching."
"The wolf is patient."
Kofi nodded.
All day he kept looking towards the forest.
Nothing happened.
The hours passed peacefully.
By afternoon, many sheep had forgotten about the warnings completely.
Some even wandered farther than usual while eating fresh grass.
Then...
The sky suddenly became dark.
Large grey clouds covered the sun.
A strong wind rushed across the valley.
The trees bent from side to side.
Birds quickly flew away.
The shepherd looked up.
"Oh no..."
"A storm is coming."
He immediately began calling the sheep.
"Come back!"
"Stay together!"
The older sheep listened.
But the young lambs became frightened.
Instead of staying together...
They ran in different directions.
Rain suddenly began falling.
At first it was light.
Then heavier.
Within minutes, the field became slippery.
The shepherd tried gathering everyone.
But the heavy rain made it difficult to see.
Kofi looked around quickly.
Three small lambs were missing.
Without waiting, he ran into the rain.
He searched behind rocks.
He searched near bushes.
Finally, he found the three frightened lambs standing close together beneath a fallen tree.
They were shaking with fear.
"It's alright," Kofi said softly.
"Follow me."
The little lambs trusted him immediately.
Together they slowly began walking back.
Suddenly...
The rain stopped.
The wind became silent.
Everything felt strangely still.
Kofi froze.
He recognised that silence.
It was the same silence from the night before.
The wolf was near.
Very near.
Then...
A loud growl echoed through the field.
GRRRRRR...
The three little lambs screamed.
The wolf stepped out from behind a large bush.
Its wet grey fur clung tightly to its body.
Its sharp teeth shone brightly.
Its hungry eyes were fixed on the lambs.
The wolf smiled.
It had been waiting for the storm.
It knew frightened sheep would scatter.
Slowly...
It moved closer.
The little lambs hid behind Kofi.
Their tiny legs were trembling.
Kofi himself was terrified.
His heart beat so fast he thought it might burst.
He knew he could run.
He knew he could save himself.
But if he ran...
The little lambs would have no chance.
Kofi took one deep breath.
Then...
He stepped forward.
He stood directly between the hungry wolf...
...and the frightened little lambs.
The wolf looked surprised.
Then it slowly lowered its head.
Its muscles became tense.
It was ready to attack.
Kofi did not move.
Even though fear filled every part of him...
He stood his ground.
The wolf suddenly leaped into the air.
Straight towards him.
